Message Looking to see if someone can tell me what happened to my 95 NA last week. I changed the oil/filter, ran for 5 mins or so to check the pressure/leaks, washed it, put it back in the garage. A day later, it started up fine, chugged and then died. After that it would turn but not start.

With the help of search and FSM, I went through the troubleshooting- initially wouldn't start with the pedal all the way down. Squeeze test of the fuel line past the filter said I was getting fuel fine. Cleaned connectors on the CAS and PTU, but stopped short of pulling a coil to check for spark. I left it alone for a week in frustration.

Today I continued the troubleshooting, and for some reason it started up with the gas all the way down- kicked out a lot of white smoke, then died again. I figured I was getting fuel and spark, otherwise it wouldn't have started, so I figured the next check was air. Broke the seal on the air filters, then decided to try the flood start again. It started up and held idle just fine (after kicking out a lot of white smoke again).

I let it idle for 5 mins, everything calmed down, and I took it for a test drive- it's running like a top again. So what was the problem? Air lock or something? I'm not complaining because it is certainly a relief to have it running fine again, but I've never had an issues with my NA before, so I'm just curious of what it could have been. Just like everyone else, we've had a pretty good cold spell lately- any factor?
